Corian® Design Studio
Charged with documenting the complex fabrication and construction of Corian®'s new Design Studio from start to finish, TPI orchestrated the entire process, working with demanding construction schedules and deadlines to meet the needs of designers, fabricators, marketing teams, architects and builders. The result? Beautifully produced imagery in three mediums that are now being widely used both in global marketing and PR materials and internally to meet a wide range of needs for the parent company Dupont™ and Corian®'s primary ad agency Ogilvy & Mather.
One challenge for us in shooting the finished showroom was to capture each distinctive market display area, which often overlapped, as separate spaces to illustrate to designers and industrial groups the diversity of market sectors that Corian® surfaces can be used in --from healthcare, education and corporate to residential, retail and hospitality. In addition, the space contains multiple color light sources, ranging from daylight and tungsten to fluorescent, all of which reflected variously on the numerous Corian® surfaces through-out and had to be managed. Our post-production team was able to ensure that one light color source didn't affect another or mar the elegance of the gleeming white Corian surfaces below while also dramatizing the translucency of the beautiful "starry sky" suspended lighting featuring 74 Corian® glacier blue light tubes, there to display the full radiance of the Corian® material when exposed to light. The finished footage make clear that Corian® indeed transcends its utilitarian functions and becomes a compelling artistic material in the creation of this truly unique space, which the architect Morris Sato Studio describes as a "sanctuary of experience."
