Leadership & PhilosophyTom Powel Bio Founder of Tom Powel Imaging, Inc. Raised by a father who was an inventor, a model builder, an ardent camera and sports car collector and a master of engineering, Tom had the unique opportunity to cultivate his skills, indulge his creativity and internalize the value of embracing new technology from a young age. From the moment his father gave him his first Leica at age eight, Tom was hooked on the craft. Over the next fifteen years, Tom continued to pursue his passion for the arts. After receiving his B.F.A. in photography and painting, he went on to additional study at the prestigious Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture. In 1986, spotting an opportunity to utilize his unique range of talents, Tom founded his own company with the aim of taking the photographing of fine art to a whole new level, making it his central mission to create images as pristine and as meticulous in detail as the art object itself. For the last twenty four years, Tom has consistently delivered the highest quality images in the business by staying ten steps ahead in utilizing and integrating the latest in digital imaging capture technology, software, cameras, lens, and high end computer and server systems, including archival storage solutions. Possessing that rare combination of skill, creativity, hands-on-attention to detail and passion for his work, Tom puts his heart and soul into every one of his relationships. Believing each client has a unique set of needs, Tom has made superior service the cornerstone of TPI’s mission since its founding days. "Helping our customers engage their audiences, enhance their relationships, streamline processes and save time is what happens when we deliver the very best images the first time out. Making my clients happy is what we're all about." |
